Philanthropy
Ronald McDonald House
Alpha Delta Pi is proud of its long-standing relationship with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The mission of RMHC is to create and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. RMHC positively impacts children’s lives and we are exctied to donate to such a worth-while cause. Today there are more than 300 Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries helping families with seriously ill or injured children by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence with medical assistance. Some facts about RMH-CH are that they have been open since 1988, there are 53 guest rooms, 25% of patients DO stay at the house and home cooked meals are served every night.
Our chapter is fortunate to have a Ronald McDonald House here in Chapel Hill - less than 10 minutes from the ADPi house - enabling us to join in supporting patients being treated at UNC and their families.
Throughout the year, our chapter members visit the nearby RMH and organize numerous events to gain community support and awareness. We are excited to announce our pledge to donate to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill’s new wing with a room dedicated to our chapter. In 2024, we raised over $20,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities and served around 1,000 people from countless RMH visits and 5 restaurant benefit nights.

Philanthropy Events
Wing Wars
Each year, our chapter holds two Lion Share Events. This year, our chapter hosted a Wing Wars philanthropy event in the fall, where all our proceeds went to Ronald McDonald House Charities. At this event, unlimited different types of wing flavors were provided for dinner. Additionally, we had a Wing War competition where each fraternity chose a member to compete against one another to see who could eat the most spicy wings in a minute. Members sold tickets to students all over campus, and we were able to eat wings and hang out together. In total, we sold over 400 tickets and raised around $5,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities!

Mac Madness
The second event held was our annual Mac N' Cheese night. This year we had a March Madness theme full of decorations and Mac n' cheese toppings. We also had a raffle that included prizes from Top of the Hill, He's Not, Uniquities, & more with the main prize being a basketball signed by our UNC basketball team! This philanthropy event is always so fun and rewarding knowing that our money raised is going to a great organization. We are so excited to host Mac Madness event again this upcoming spring!

Greek Groove
Check out our 2022 performance that got us 1st place!
Every spring, UNC Panhellenic Council holds Greek Groove, a competition where all Panhellenic chapters compete to win money for their national philanthropy! Additionally, proceeds from the event benefit the UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders to ensure no patients have to undergo the hardship of inappropriate eating disorder treatment.

This year, our Greek Groove team were the 2022 Greek Groove Champs and we were fortunate enough to be able to win $1,000 for RMHC! Our performers had so much fun, and we can't wait for next year!
